Alex's Passion Projects
Take a look at the gallery of my recent projects. Feel free to ask me about them if you see me about!
This a Type 2 Phaser from Star Trek. It has lights and sound, with all buttons working. Resin, FDM, painted, electronics.
This is just a simple storage pot I designed based off the Old Toby barrel in the Lord of the Rings movie. FDM, painted.
A functional storage chest designed to look like a Dungeons and Dragons mimic chest. Resin, painted.
Another Star Trek prop, the Doctors mobile emitter. I used a bit of scrap PCB from a mouse for the internal part. Resin, painted.
A replica of Ricks portal gun from Rick and Morty. Complete with lights, sound and screen. Resin, FDM, painted, electronics.
My first big print. Although I did not design this model I did modify it to work on my printer at the time. I painted this with spray paints and masking tape. FDM, painted.
This is the most complicated project I have ever done. It involved custom printed circuitboards, loads of programming and setup and a lot of surface mounted soldering. The device can actually sense wifi signal strength and has capacitive touch buttons hidden under the shell. Resin, FDM, electronics.
Can you tell I like Apex Legends? The Wingman was another model I did not design, but did paint and assemble. The Arc Star and kunai were designed by me. The arc star lights up and was one of the first electronics projects I did. FDM, painted, electronics.
